PETALING JAYA: GDB Holdings Bhd (GDB), a construction services firm, has successfully secured a RM306 million contract from KL International Hospital Sdn Bhd to build a private hospital in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, GDB said its wholly-owned subsidiary Grand Dynamic Builders Sdn Bhd has received the new contract from KL International Hospital, a subsidiary of KL Wellness City Sdn Bhd.
“The contract includes execution, performance, design (where applicable), construction, completion, commissioning of machinery and equipment, and maintenance (if applicable) of the private hospital building located at Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur,” it said.
GDB said the construction is expected to begin on March 16, 2024, and will be carried out over 25 months.
Its group managing director Cheah Ham Cheia said the new hospital will be the centrepiece of KL Wellness City and is poised to be a world-class hub for both domestic and international healthcare and medical services.
“It will be featuring centres of excellence across various areas, including cardiology, spine health, neuro health, sports medicine, cosmetic surgery and fertility.
“The contract marks a significant milestone as we embark on constructing a state-of-the-art hospital and at the same time elevating our track record,” it said.
GDB said the project will be funded from internally generated funds or bank borrowings, otherwise a combination of both.
With this win, GDB’s current order book stood at RM475 million, up from RM169 million on Sept 30, 2023.
As at noon, GDB’s share price stood unchanged at 21.5 sen, giving it a market capitalisation of RM201.56 million.
